AI Update: Now you will have to pay to use AI in your smartphone, this company is making preparations..
Samsung has confirmed that it is going to launch a paid AI service subscription for its Galaxy smartphones soon. The service has been named AI Subscription Club, which will be available to users from next month. The service will provide access to Samsung's AI technology through a monthly fee. Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee has announced that this subscription plan will apply to both Galaxy smartphones and the recently launched Ballie AI robot.
Expansion of AI Subscription Club
Samsung launched the AI Subscription Club for select home appliances in South Korea in December 2024. Now this paid service will also be available for more Samsung gadgets like Galaxy smartphones and Ballie robots. Under this subscription model, users will be able to use AI-powered products like smartphones, TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines for a monthly fee. Along with this, the service will also include repair and maintenance options.
Availability of free AI features
While this subscription service provides access to additional features, Samsung has clarified that this service is not required to use the core AI features of Galaxy smartphones and other devices. Users can use these core AI features for free until the end of 2025, although there is no confirmation on what the plan will be after that.
