TTE can give the seat to someone else after this much time
According to the rules of Indian Railways, if you leave or miss your train. Then the TTE cannot give your seat to someone else till the next two stations. Along with this, according to the rules, the TTE has to wait for at least 1 hour. But even after this, if your seat remains vacant, then the TTE can allot this seat to another passenger.
Can you claim it back?
According to the rules of Railways, if you have missed your train. Then you can start your journey by reaching the next railway station through some other vehicle. If the TTE has immediately allotted the seat to someone. Then you can claim your seat. Because according to the rules, you have reached the next station. Whereas the Railways gives you a chance to come back to your seat from the place where the reservation is to the next stations.
You get this much refund
If you are unable to catch your train even after making the reservation. Then you are given a refund by the railways. However, you are given half the price of your ticket. For this, you have to cancel the ticket and file a TDR within 3 hours of the train departure. If you do not do this then you will not be given a refund.
