What’s the Rush? UAN Activation Deadline is Here!

Employees must activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) by November 30, 2024, to benefit from the Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme. Linking UAN with Aadhaar is now mandatory to access these incentives.

What is the ELI Scheme?

The ELI scheme, introduced in the 2024 Union Budget, aims to boost employment by incentivizing companies to hire more employees. Here's how it works:

  • Scheme A:

    • ₹15,000 subsidy per new graduate hire.
    • Distributed in three installments.
    • Expected to provide jobs to 30 lakh youth.
  • Scheme B:

    • Focused on manufacturing industries.
    • ₹3,000 monthly per new hire for two years.
    • Companies need to add 50 new employees or increase staff by 25%.
  • Scheme C:

    • General workforce incentives across industries.
    • Further details are yet to be announced.

Why Do You Need to Activate Your UAN?

An active UAN linked with Aadhaar enables employees to:

  • Access their PF passbook.
  • Update personal details and apply for claims online.
  • Track claim status.
  • Benefit from Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes, ensuring money is directly deposited into their bank accounts.

How to Activate Your UAN in a Few Simple Steps

  1. Visit the EPFO Member Portal:
