Aadhaar update online: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline to update the Aadhaar card online for free. Under this new deadline, users can now update their Aadhaar card online for free till June 14, 2024. Now this deadline is also getting closer as June has started now. This means that Indian residents now have about 10 days left to update their Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents for free.

Why is it necessary to update your Aadhaar card?
As per the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulations, 2016, individuals must update their POI and POA documents every 10 years from the date of their Aadhaar enrolment. This requirement also applies to updating the child's biometric details on their Blue Aadhaar card at the age of 5 and 15 years.
In demographic information, you can update your name, address, date of birth/age, gender, mobile number, email address, and relationship status online. Let us tell you, that Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued to all Indian residents, which is required to access government services and make financial transactions securely. How to update Aadhaar online?
Visit UIDAI website
For this, users have to first go to uidai.gov.in and choose their preferred language.
Access the updated feature
After this you have to go to the update feature, here you click on the "My Aadhaar" tab and click on the Update Your Aadhaar option from the dropdown menu.
Proceed with the update
Now a new page will open in front of you. After filling in all your details here, you have to click on Update Document.
Authenticate yourself
Now you have to enter your UID number and captcha code. After this here you have to tap on a send OTP.
Login
After receiving the OTP, enter it and click on "Login".
Select and Fill in Details
Now you can update your name address, and date of birth. Now enter the correct information of what you want to update in your Aadhaar.
Submit and upload documents
Now when you make all the changes, you click on the submit button and upload the scanned photo of the required document to support your update request.
Finalize the Update:
Now finally when you fill and send this form, you will receive an Update Request Number (URN) via SMS. With this, you can check the status of your application.
Documents required for Aadhaar card update
To update your Aadhaar card, you must have these documents-
Identity proof: Passport, driving license, PAN card, voter ID, government-issued ID card, mark sheet, marriage certificate, ration card, etc.
Address proof: Bank statement (not more than 3 months old), electricity or gas connection bill (not more than 3 months old), passport, marriage certificate, ration card, rent slip (not more than one-year-old), government-issued ID card, etc.
What will happen if the update is not done before June 14?
If you can update your identity and address documents in your Aadhaar card online for free till June 14, 2024. After this, you will have to pay Rs 25 for online updates, and Rs 50 is charged for offline updates.
