The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made significant changes to make the Aadhaar card update process easier, faster, and completely online. These new rules will come into effect on November 1, 2025. From November 1, 2025, you will be able to update your name, address, and mobile number online through the myAadhaar website. You will no longer need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (service center). However, if you need a biometric update (such as a fingerprint, eye scan, or photo), you will still need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (service center).

UIDAI stated that the document uploading and auto-verification feature will reduce manual processing. The UIDAI website also details which updates can be made online, at which centers, and which documents are required. If a person fails to update their information on time or encounters linking issues, they may face service interruptions or financial difficulties. The Aadhaar Update Service page on the UIDAI website provides all the rules, procedures, and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
