social media

The Aadhar card is an important document for us, which is needed in every government and banking work. Similarly, a ration card is used to get government food items, but it can also be used as an identity card. But nowadays fake ration cards are being made. In such a situation, linking a ration card with an Aadhar card can overcome this problem.

Have you not yet linked your Aadhaar to your ration card or food subsidy accounts? So you still have time, you can easily link it by following some steps. Let's know about it.

Why is Aadhaar-ration card linking necessary?
The Government of India has made Aadhaar-ration card linking mandatory to strengthen the Public Distribution System (PDS).

This interlinking helps in eliminating duplicate and fake ration cards, ensuring that subsidized food grains reach the right beneficiaries. This initiative promotes transparency and accountability in PDS.

The deadline for Aadhaar-ration card linking has been extended to September 30, 2024. This gives enough time for those who have not yet completed the process.

Methods of Linking
Aadhaar-ration card linking can be done both online and offline and here we are going to tell you about it.

Online Aadhaar-Ration Card Linking
First of all, visit your state's PDS website or the official Aadhaar seeding portal.

Now enter the credentials to log in to the website.

After this, find the Aadhaar linking section to link your ration card with Aadhaar.

Now fill in your ration card number, Aadhaar number, and any other required information.

After submitting the details, you will get a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number for verification.

Now enter the OTP and your Aadhaar ration card will be linked.

Offline Aadhaar-Ration Card Linking
For this, visit your nearest fair price shop or PDS center with the required documents.

Bring the original and a photocopy of your ration card, your Aadhaar card (both original and photocopy), and a passport-size photo.

Fill out the application form for Aadhaar seeding, attach photocopies, and submit it to the shopkeeper or PDS officer.

Here the officer may ask for biometric authentication (fingerprint scan) to confirm your Aadhaar details.

You will receive a message on your registered mobile number upon successful completion of the process.
