The process of creating Aadhaar cards for newborns has also begun in Bihar. This program is being implemented in more than 100,000 Anganwadi centers across the state. This program ensures the identification of children immediately after birth. The goal of this process is to ensure that children receive benefits from all central and state government schemes in a timely manner and directly in their name. While Aadhaar cards were previously issued only after the child turned one year old, now they will be issued within one month of birth. Aadhaar Service Facility to Launch in Anganwadi Centers

According to the Women and Child Development Department, Aadhaar Service Centers are being opened in all Anganwadi centers across the state. Newborns' Aadhaar cards will be created here. Children's Aadhaar cards will be linked to their parents' Aadhaar card numbers, allowing for simultaneous record-keeping of their identity and family details. Approximately 756,000 pregnant women in the state are being informed about this new system. After creating the Aadhaar card, the relevant data will be sent to the Women and Child Development Corporation, the Health Department, and the Education Department to ensure children receive the benefits of government schemes.

Newborns Will Also Benefit from Health Cards

After Aadhaar cards are created, the government will also issue health cards for newborns. This will enable the creation of health records for children, allowing them to receive benefits directly from vaccinations and other health-related programs. Previously, benefits were provided based on their parents' Aadhaar numbers; however, these benefits will now be directly distributed to children through their own Aadhaar cards.

How to Get Your Newborn's Aadhaar Card

Online Method

• To get your newborn's Aadhaar card, first visit the UIDAI's official website.
• Next, go to the My Aadhaar section and click on Book an Appointment.
• Enter your city and mobile number and verify with an OTP.
• Next, select a date and time for your Aadhaar service center.
• You will now need to undergo biometric verification for the mother or father.
• After verification, submit the child's birth certificate and other documents.

Offline Method

• To get your child's Aadhaar card offline, visit a nearby Aadhaar enrollment center.
• Fill out the application form and submit the required documents.
• After applying, you will receive an Acknowledgement Slip, which allows you to track the status.
• Baala Aadhaar cards typically arrive at your home within 60 to 90 days.
