Aadhaar Card Update: Changes in the rules for Aadhaar Card Update, know the new online process and fees..
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has shifted all Aadhaar-related services to a digital platform. Now, you won't need to visit an Aadhaar center for any Aadhaar-related work. This means you can now perform all tasks, including Aadhaar updates, verification, and PAN linking, online from the comfort of your home.
All Aadhaar-related services will be available online.
Under UIDAI's new digital framework, cardholders will be able to update key information, such as name, address, date of birth, and mobile number, directly on the UIDAI website. A PAN card, passport, ration card, or driving license will be required to update these details.
New Deadline for Aadhaar-PAN Linking
The government has set December 31, 2025, as the deadline for linking PAN and Aadhaar. If the PAN is not linked to Aadhaar by this time, the PAN card will be deactivated. Additionally, Aadhaar verification will be mandatory for users to obtain a new PAN card.
The KYC process has also become easier.
UIDAI has also made some changes to the online KYC (Know Your Customer) process. Banks and other financial institutions can now verify customer identity through Aadhaar OTP, video KYC, or in-person verification. This has made the KYC process faster and more secure.
Changes in Aadhaar Update Fees
UIDAI has implemented new fees for Aadhaar updates from November 1st. ₹40 will be charged for Aadhaar reprints, ₹125 for biometric data updates, ₹75 for demographic updates, ₹700 for home enrollment (first member), and ₹350 for other members on the same account.
