But, you do not need to worry. You can order PVC Aadhaar online through the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization that issues Aadhaar cards.
What is a PVC Aadhaar card?
Polyvinyl chloride card (PVC) is like a plastic card. You can understand it like a PAN card. Aadhaar information is printed on it. It will easily fit in your purse like a PAN or debit card. Its life cycle is also quite long.
How to get a PVC Aadhaar card?
First of all, go to the UIDAI website and apply online.
Fill Aadhaar number and captcha code on the site and click on Send OTP.
You will get OTP on your registered mobile, fill it out and submit it.
Then you have to click on 'Order Aadhaar PVC Card'. You will see your information. Click on the next option here.
Now you will get payment options of credit/debit card, net banking, and UPI.
You have to select the payment option and deposit a fee of Rs 50.
After making the payment, the order process for the Aadhaar PVC card will be completed. Then you will not need to do anything further. UIDAI will check your information and print the Aadhaar within 5 days and hand it over to the Indian Post. The Postal Department will deliver it to your home through speed post.
3 formats of Aadhaar card
Aadhaar card is currently available in 3 formats, Aadhaar letter, e-Aadhaar, and PVC card. According to UIDAI, the PVC cards being made in the market are not valid. UIDAI has provided the facility to reprint the Aadhaar card on polyvinyl chloride card (PVC) in October 2024. You can also get a new Aadhaar card made offline. For this you have to go to the nearest Aadhaar center and complete the necessary process there.
