Steps to update your Aadhaar after marriage:
Visit Aadhaar Service Center
First of all, locate your nearest Aadhaar service center. It is a good idea to go with your husband, as his documents will be needed for verification.
Fill Aadhaar update form
After reaching the center, you have to fill the Aadhaar update request form. In the form, you have to provide information like your name, Aadhaar number and mobile number.
Submit the required documents:
Marriage Certificate: This verifies that you have recently got married.
Marriage card: This provides additional proof of marriage.
Your husband's Aadhaar card: This helps to verify the change in surname and address.
Make sure to carry both the photocopy and original documents for verification.
Biometric and photo update
Once your documents are submitted, you will be asked to provide your biometric data (fingerprint and iris scan) and a photo to update your Aadhaar information.
Confirmation and processing
Once all the details are submitted and verified, your information will be updated in the Aadhaar database. You will receive a confirmation that your request is being processed.
Get your updated Aadhaar card
The updated Aadhaar card will be sent to your registered address. If you want to get a PVC (polyvinyl chloride) Aadhaar card, you can request for it by paying a nominal fee of Rs 50.
