Have you obtained your Saheli Pink Smart Card yet? If not, you still have the opportunity to do so. The Delhi government has extended the deadline for issuing the Saheli Pink Smart Card for women. Female passengers can now continue to travel for free using the 'Pink Ticket' under the existing system until August 31, 2026. This provides extra time for women who have not yet obtained the Saheli Pink Smart Card. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated, "We are giving our sisters—specifically those who haven't done so yet—another chance to get their Pink Cards made by the festival of Rakhi, ensuring that every sister in Delhi can avail the benefit of free travel on Delhi buses." Here are the details:

**System to change from September 1**
According to a new DTC order, the Pink Saheli Smart Card will become mandatory for availing free bus travel starting September 1, 2026. This means that after August 31, you will not be able to travel for free on Delhi buses without the Pink Card, as passengers will be required to tap their smart cards upon boarding. Women without a valid card will have to purchase a ticket and travel like regular passengers.

**Old system continues until August 31**
The previous system was initially valid only until August 16 but has now been extended to August 31. If you possess a Pink Saheli Smart Card, you can continue to travel for free on DTC and DIMTS cluster buses after August 31, just as before. During this period, no woman will be denied free travel solely due to the absence of a smart card.

**1.8 million cards already distributed**
According to government data, approximately 1.8 million Pink Saheli Smart Cards have been distributed so far. The government aims to reach as many women as possible by the end of August to ensure a smooth transition when the new system comes into effect.

**Cards being issued at 50 centers**
To facilitate the process for women, around 50 authorized centers have been set up across Delhi. These include the district office, the SDM office, and several DTC pass sections. The government and the DTC have appealed to women not to wait until the last minute and to get their 'Pink Saheli' smart cards made before August 31.
