This means that education in these schools will now follow the CBSE pattern. Furthermore, boys and girls will now study together in these schools, as the government has decided to implement co-education by merging different schools. This news is significant for parents who want to educate their children in CBSE schools.
Why is this master plan special?
The Himachal government and the Directorate of Education have jointly taken a major step. In the first phase, over 100 government schools will be affiliated with the CBSE board, including high schools and senior secondary schools. Until now, many schools were exclusively for boys or girls, but now they will be merged to implement co-education. The Directorate of Education has released a complete list detailing the names of the schools and the merger plan.
What is the purpose of this plan?
The aim of this plan is to provide children with a better and modern education. CBSE education is considered the best across the country, and it will provide children with greater opportunities for college and employment in the future. Additionally, co-education will foster mutual understanding and a sense of equality among children.
What do schools need to do to affiliate with CBSE?
To obtain CBSE affiliation, schools must submit certain necessary documents. This includes land records, which will detail the school's land. A building safety certificate, which will prove the building's safety, will be required. In addition to a fire safety certificate, a certificate of clean water and sanitation will also be required. Schools must upload all these documents to the CBSE's Saras 6.0 portal. Only after this process is completed will the school receive CBSE recognition. The government has clearly stated that every school must follow these rules to ensure children receive a quality and safe education.
