A Life-Changing Initiative for Women: Are You Eligible for This Yearly Benefit?"

The Odisha government has launched a groundbreaking scheme called the Subhadra Yojana to uplift and economically empower women in the state. Under this program, women aged between 21 and 60 years will receive ₹10,000 annually, directly credited to their bank accounts in two installments of ₹5,000 each.

Recently, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi initiated the third phase of the scheme, sending the first installment to 20 lakh women amidst enthusiastic applause at a Sundargarh event. Since its inception by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, over 80 lakh women have already benefited, with the program targeting more than one crore women.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Subhadra Yojana, applicants must:

  • Be permanent residents of Odisha.
  • Be women aged 21–60 years as of July 1, 2024.
  • Have a family income of ₹2.5 lakh per annum or less.
  • Be unemployed in the government sector.

Additionally, only one woman per household can avail the scheme, and special provisions exist for Anganwadi and ASHA workers, provided their spouses are not government employees.
