Jamia Millia Islamia has commenced admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. This year, 30 new courses have been added, and changes have also been introduced to the admission process. Read on to find out what these changes are.
If you are planning to seek college admission this year, there is good news for you. Jamia Millia Islamia has opened admissions for the 2026-27 session. By introducing new courses this time around, the university has created a wider range of opportunities for students.
Jamia has initiated the admission process for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), Diploma, and Certificate courses. All students can apply online. The university has also released a detailed prospectus containing comprehensive information regarding admissions.
This year, Jamia has launched 30 new courses. These include new language options in the BA (Hons) program, science courses at the MSc level, and professional programs such as MTech and LLM. This will provide students with a broader array of options aligned with their career aspirations.
The new list also features the addition of job-oriented courses such as B.Tech in Robotics & AI, Civil Engineering, B.Voc in Molecular Diagnostics, and Hotel Management. Additionally, certificate courses in disciplines like Painting and Calligraphy have been introduced.
A significant relief for students is that the fee structure for any course has not been increased this year. This means that the fees applicable last year will remain unchanged for the current session as well.
Furthermore, under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a 'Multiple Entry-Exit' mode has been implemented for admissions. The advantage of this system is that students can pause their studies midway and subsequently resume them at a later stage.
This year, the number of entrance examination centers has been increased from 8 to 11. Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj have been added as new centers, thereby enhancing convenience for the students.
