New IT rules implemented by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in 2021 make it mandatory for companies to block or disable access to content broadcast, stored or published by them that 'shows a person wholly or partly nude' or engages in sexual acts or conduct.” The new IT rules also mandate companies to block content that is allegedly impersonated or artificially modified.
