EPFO RULES Update: How to update bank account details or KYC in EPF account on UAN portal, know steps to step guide
If your bank account recorded in the PF account has become inactive, or you do not want PF money in that account number which is already linked for any other reason, then you will have to update the new account number. Know the process here.
Every month 12 percent of the Basic Salary + DA of the working people goes to the EPF account. The employee gets better returns on EPF investment than other schemes. If needed, this money can also be withdrawn. You should also provide the bank account number for withdrawal. This account should be active, as well as linked with the PF account.
But if your bank account recorded in the PF account has become inactive, or you do not want PF money in that account number which is already linked for any other reason, then you have to link a new account number in the PF account. Know here what will have to be done to link bank account details in the PF account.
The account number will be updated in 7 steps
- To register the bank's account number in the PF account, you must first go to the UAN portal. To log in to the UAN portal, you have to use the 12-digit UAN number as the User ID. This should be activated. Login by entering your UAN number and password.
- After login into the UN Portal, you will see the option of Manage in the Main Menu on the Dashboard. On clicking on it, a dropdown list will open. Here you will see five options, out of which you have to choose the option of KYC.
- After clicking this option, you have to choose the bank option. Here you have to enter the bank account number, name, and IFSC code.
- Check all the details once, after that tick the small empty box before the declaration and save this information.
- Now a message will come on your mobile linked with your Aadhaar. It will contain the OTP number, fill it in the blank box, and after that click on the submit button. With this, the process of updating the account number on your part is completed.
- After submitting the account details, EPFO will first get your bank account number verified with your bank. For this, you will get the bank account number, and a message to be verified by the bank.
- When the account details are approved by the bank in which you have an account, then the HR department of the company will update your bank account details through a digital signature on the Employer PF portal. This process may take about two to three days to complete.
