The 8th Pay Commission can increase the basic salary of government employees. It is being said that the basic salary of government employees can be increased from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 26 thousand. However, no confirmation has been made about this yet.

The Pay Commission is constituted every 10 years in the country. Its objective is to review the salaries, allowances and pension benefits received by all government employees and pensioners. About 50 lakh government employees and 65 lakh pensioners are going to benefit from the 8th Pay Commission.

Along with the 8th Pay Commission, all government employees may also get good news regarding dearness allowance. If media reports are to be believed, the dearness allowance of government employees for June to December 2025 may increase more than last time.
For January-June 2025, there was an increase of only two percent in dearness allowance. However, considering the inflation figures, experts believe that this time a three percent increase has been estimated. Currently, the DA of central government employees and pensioners is 55 percent. The next revision may be announced in October or November.
