Central employees are waiting for the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for the second half of the year i.e. from July to December. Meanwhile, some states are increasing the Dearness Allowance for different periods. In this episode, Gujarat has announced a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance. This allowance will come with the next three months' salary (DA Hike Update) as arrears.

Lakhs of employees will get the benefit
This decision will be effective from January 1, 2024, for those employees who come under the Seventh Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission update). This will benefit 4.71 lakh Karmayogis and about 4.73 lakh retired employees or pensioners of Gujarat. Officials said that the state government will distribute a total of Rs 1129.51 crore for the settlement of these dues of the employees (DA Hike news).

Arrears will be given in three installments.
The arrears of dearness allowance for six months from 1 January 2024 to 30 June 2024 will be given in three installments (Basic salary Hike) along with the salary. According to the information, the arrears between January 2024 to February 2024 will be included in the salary for July, the arrears for March and April (DA Arrear latest news) in the salary of August, and the arrears for May and June in the salary of September.

When will the central employees get the gift?
