518 Government Jobs in Jammu & Kashmir: Check Application Dates and Eligibility
The JKSSB has issued a recruitment notification for 518 posts across the Agriculture Production, Health & Medical Education, Higher Education, and Labour & Employment departments. The online application process will begin on September 10.
JKSSB Recruitment: The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released a notification to recruit for 518 posts in the Agriculture Production, Health & Medical Education, Higher Education, and Labour & Employment departments. The online application process for these posts will commence on September 10, 2026, and interested candidates can apply via the official website, jkssb.nic.in, until October 9, 2026. The recruitment process will be conducted based on a written examination and document verification. Under Advertisement No. 08/2026 issued by the JKSSB, this recruitment covers various posts across UT, divisional, and district cadres. The Board has clarified that the number of vacancies may be modified as required until the selection process is concluded.
Department-wise Vacancy Details
Under this recruitment drive, the highest number of vacancies—421 posts—will be filled in the Health & Medical Education Department. Additionally, there are 46 posts in the Agriculture Production Department, 48 in the Higher Education Department, and three in the Labour & Employment Department. Recruitment in the Health Department will cover posts such as Junior Staff Nurse, Junior Lab Technician, Junior Pharmacist, Health Educator, Sanitary Inspector, Paramedical Assistant, Junior Theatre Technician, Junior Ophthalmic Technician, FMPHW, and MMPHW. Meanwhile, the Agriculture Production Department includes posts for Horticulture Technician Grade-4 and Senior Canning Attendant; the Higher Education Department includes Junior Laboratory Assistant; and the Labour & Employment Department includes the post of Supervisor.
Eligibility and Fees
Candidates applying for these posts must possess a domicile certificate for the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Furthermore, they must meet the prescribed educational qualifications and age limits specific to the respective posts. Meanwhile, candidates belonging to the general category will be required to pay an application fee of ₹600. For candidates belonging to the SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PwBD categories, the application fee has been set at ₹500. Applications will be accepted only through the online mode.
What is the selection process?
Candidates will be selected through an OMR-based objective-type written examination. A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination. Subsequently, document verification will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates. The board has also stated that negative marking—involving a deduction of one-fourth of a mark for every incorrect answer—will be applicable to the examination.
