5 Lakh Students in Haryana to Receive Data SIMs; Emphasis on Digital Learning

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the purchase of 5 lakh data SIM cards to provide internet connectivity for the tablets distributed to students in classes 10 through 12 across the state.

The Haryana government has taken a significant decision to boost digital learning for students in government schools. Approval has been granted to purchase 5 lakh data SIM cards to enable internet connectivity on the tablets provided to students in classes 10 to 12. These SIM cards will facilitate easier access to online study materials and other digital educational resources via the tablets. This decision was made during a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The government states that the initiative aims to connect students with technology-based education and help them develop skills essential for meeting current demands.

Tablets to be Provided to 5 Lakh Students

The Haryana government has announced plans to provide 5 lakh tablets to students in classes 10 through 12. The new data SIM cards are being procured specifically for use with these tablets. Internet connectivity will enable students to utilize the devices to access digital study materials and educational resources. This entire initiative is part of Haryana's 'e-Adhigam' program. The scheme emphasizes integrating government school students into tablet-based learning and promoting personalized and adaptive education.

Focus on Digital and Technical Education

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that the state government's priority is to provide quality technical education to students, enabling them to develop skills aligned with contemporary needs. The approval for purchasing 5 lakh data SIM cards is a step in this direction. Providing internet access alongside the tablets will offer government school students better opportunities to utilize digital resources. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government had previously provided 5 lakh free tablets to government school students in classes 10 to 12 under the e-Adhigam scheme. Preparations for 'CM-SHRI' Schools in Haryana

In addition to the decision regarding data SIM cards, Haryana's Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda announced that 'CM-SHRI' schools would soon be launched in the state, modeled after the 'PM-SHRI' schools. While responding to a member's question during the Assembly's budget session, he stated that the CBSE pattern would be followed in these CM-SHRI schools.
