Four Important Tasks in December 2025: As December, the last month of 2025, begins, the deadlines for several important tasks are fast approaching. If you have been postponing tasks related to PAN-Aadhaar linking, advance tax, or ITR, now is the time to take action. Failure to complete these tasks by December 31st could lead to various problems, from banking and investments to tax filing. Therefore, consider December a "to-do list" month and complete these four important tasks on time. The deadline for one of these tasks is just three days away, on December 10th. What are these tasks and what are their deadlines? Let's find out.

1. Last Date for ITR Filing: December 10th (ITR filing last date for tax audit cases)
If your case falls under tax audit, the last date to file your Income Tax Return is December 10, 2025. Filing your return by this date will be considered timely. The biggest relief is that no late fee or penalty will be levied on returns filed within the deadline.

2. Advance Tax Deadline: December 15th (advance tax December 2025)
Individuals whose estimated tax liability exceeds ₹10,000 even after TDS deduction are required to pay advance tax. The last date for this is December 15th. Delaying this payment can result in both interest and penalties, so it's best to clear it on time.

3. Belated ITR Filing Deadline: December 31st (belated ITR last date 2025)
If you haven't filed your ITR for the financial year 2024-25 yet, don't worry, you still have a chance. However, this opportunity comes with a late fee.
It's important to note that if you miss this deadline, you will not be able to file your return at all. 4. Linking Aadhaar and PAN is mandatory by December 31 (PAN Aadhaar linking deadline 2025)
If your Aadhaar was issued on or before October 1, 2024, it is mandatory to link it with your PAN card by December 31 (link PAN with Aadhaar before December 31). Failure to do so will result in your PAN becoming inactive, which can disrupt everything from banking and investments to demat accounts and ITR filing. The linking process is simple. It can be completed in a few minutes on the Income Tax e-filing portal by entering your PAN, Aadhaar, and OTP. Note that a prescribed penalty also needs to be paid for this.

These four December deadlines directly affect your financial transactions, so it is wise to complete them on time.

How to link the Aadhaar card with the PAN card?
You can link your Aadhaar card with your PAN card through Income Tax e-filing. You can easily link your Aadhaar to your PAN card by following the steps given below.

Step 2 - Here, you have to click on the Link Aadhaar option.

Step 3 - Now enter your Aadhaar and PAN card numbers.

Step 4 - After that, enter your registered mobile number.

Step 5 - Then click on "I agree to validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI".

Linking via SMS
You can also link your PAN to your Aadhaar card via SMS. For this, you have to follow the steps given below.

Step 1 - First, the customer has to send a message from their registered mobile number:

UIDPAN <12 Digit Aadhaar> <10 Digit PAN>
