2,423 Seats Vacant in NEET SS Counselling Round 2; MCC Releases List
The MCC has released the clear vacancy list for Round 2. According to the published seat matrix, a total of 2,423 seats across DM, MCh, and DrNB super-specialty programs are now available to candidates.
NEET SS Counselling: A major update has been released for candidates awaiting admission in the second round of NEET Super Specialty Counselling 2025. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued the clear vacancy list for Round 2. As per the seat matrix, a total of 2,423 seats in DM, MCh, and DrNB super-specialty programs are now open for candidates.
These seats became vacant after candidates allotted seats in the first round either failed to join or resigned from their seats. Candidates participating in Round 2 can view the clear vacancy list on the official MCC website and submit their choices based on their preferred courses and institutes. The registration and choice-filling process is currently underway.
New Allotment for 2,423 Seats
The clear vacancy list released by the MCC details the seats that became vacant following the previous round. This includes seats where allotted candidates did not take admission at the respective institutes or subsequently relinquished their seats. These 2,423 seats have been included for fresh selection in Round 2. Candidates must carefully review the availability of seats by course and institute before submitting their choices. Seat allotment will be based on the candidate's merit, their submitted preferences, and the applicable counselling rules; therefore, choice filling is considered crucial in this round.
Registration Open Until August 10
The MCC has also released a revised schedule for NEET SS Counselling Round 2. Candidates must complete the registration and fee payment process within the stipulated timeframe. According to the schedule, the deadline for registration is 6:00 PM on August 10. The deadline for depositing the registration fee is August 10, by 9:00 PM. Additionally, the last date for choice filling is August 11, by 5:00 PM. The window for choice locking is also open on August 11, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The seat allotment result will be declared on August 13, 2026, while reporting to the allotted college must be completed between August 14 and August 20, 2026.
How candidates should complete the process
Candidates participating in Round 2 must complete their registration by visiting the official MCC website. Subsequently, they need to pay the requisite fee within the stipulated timeframe and submit their preferences based on the available seats. Once choice filling is complete, it is mandatory to lock the choices within the designated time. Candidates are advised to carefully review the vacancy list and seat matrix before submitting their choices; they will be able to finalize their preferences based on the information regarding seats available in Round 2.
