24-Hour OTP-Based Digital Locker Facility at 4 Railway Stations, Including New Delhi and Nizamuddin

Northern Railway's Delhi Division is launching a digital locker facility at four stations. The service is already available at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin, while it will soon commence at Delhi Junction and Anand Vihar.

To enhance passenger convenience, Northern Railway has initiated a digital locker facility at four major railway stations in the Delhi Division. This provides rail passengers with an easy, technology-driven option to securely store their luggage for a short period during their journey.

The digital locker facility is being introduced at New Delhi (NDLS), Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM), Delhi Junction (DLI), and Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT). While the service has already started at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations, it will soon be launched at Delhi Junction and Anand Vihar Terminal.

Who Will Benefit Most from the Digital Locker?

This facility will be particularly beneficial for passengers who have a long gap between connecting trains or those who wish to step out of the station to explore the city. Passengers can securely store their heavy luggage in the station lockers and move around freely without the burden of their bags.

Locker Access via Mobile Number and OTP

The digital lockers feature an access system based on mobile numbers and OTPs. To deposit luggage, passengers must first enter their mobile number. After OTP verification, they need to select the locker size and storage option, then make a digital payment. Once done, the luggage can be placed in the locker and locked.

To retrieve the luggage, the registered mobile number must be entered, followed by OTP verification. Users can then select the 'Release' option to open the locker and must close it again after removing their belongings.

Digital payment systems such as Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, and others can be used for this facility.

Catering to the diverse needs of passengers, the digital lockers are available in Mini, Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large sizes. Passengers can choose a locker based on the size of their luggage.

Where are these facilities available at New Delhi and Nizamuddin stations?

At New Delhi Railway Station, digital luggage lockers are available in the main hall—near platform number 16 and beneath the digital display board. Meanwhile, at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, the lockers are located next to the stairs near the main entrance. The digital locker facility at both stations will be available 24/7.

Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, stated that the digital locker facility is being introduced at suitable locations, keeping in mind passenger convenience, security, and the optimal use of available space. The Railways believes this initiative will help provide passengers with a more convenient and hassle-free travel experience.
