23,000 Jobs in the Postal Department; 10th Pass Candidates Can Apply by September 21

Candidates who have passed the 10th-grade examination from a recognized board are eligible to apply for the India Post GDS recruitment. Those who have already registered can complete their application process by 5 PM on September 21.

India Post had announced recruitment for 23,757 posts of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS). While the deadline for registration is today, September 19, candidates who have completed registration can submit their application forms and pay the fee until 5 PM on September 21. Consequently, candidates who have finished the registration process can now fill out their forms up to September 21.

10th Pass Candidates Eligible to Apply

Candidates who have passed the 10th-grade exam from a recognized board can apply for the India Post GDS recruitment. Passing the 10th-grade exam—specifically with Mathematics as a subject—is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must possess knowledge of the local language of the specific post or postal circle they are applying for. The age limit for applicants is set between 18 and 40 years; however, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit as per the rules.

Applications Can Be Submitted Until September 21

The registration process for this recruitment began on August 31, while the application submission process has been underway since September 2. Registration closes today, September 19. Following this, candidates who have registered can complete their applications and pay the prescribed fee by 5 PM on September 21. In case of any errors in the application, candidates will be given an opportunity to make corrections on September 23 and 24.

No Written Examination

A key feature of the GDS recruitment is that candidates are not required to take a written examination for selection. Candidates will be selected based on a system-generated merit list derived from their 10th-grade marks. If the Class 10 marksheet displays grades or points instead of numerical marks, they will be converted into marks according to the prescribed procedure. Subsequently, a merit list will be prepared based on the percentage, calculated up to four decimal places.

Application Fee: ₹100

The application fee for GDS posts is set at ₹100; however, female candidates, transgender women, and candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories are exempted from paying the fee. Payment can be made online via credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI.
