If you have a long-pending traffic challan for your vehicle in Delhi, this news is for you. A 'National Lok Adalat' is set to be held in the capital on October 25, 2026. The Delhi Traffic Police has already begun preparations. This Lok Adalat is designed to facilitate the settlement of up to 2 lakh challans and notices. Vehicle owners with pending challans can apply to seek relief.

The National Lok Adalat will be organized across seven court complexes in Delhi. According to the Delhi Traffic Police, the facility to download challans and notices will become available starting at 10:00 AM on October 19, via an online portal. Please note, however, that not all challans will necessarily be settled through this process.

Where will the Lok Adalat be held?

Patiala House Court
Karkardooma Court
Rouse Avenue Court
Saket Court
Tis Hazari Court
Rohini Court
Dwarka Court

What is the story behind the 2 lakh challans?

According to a notice from the Delhi Traffic Police, a limit of 2 lakh challans and notices has been set for settlement during this Lok Adalat. A maximum of 50,000 challans or notices can be downloaded per day; this means not all vehicle owners will be able to download their challans simultaneously. The facility may be closed once the total prescribed limit is reached.

It should be noted that the settlement of a challan in the Lok Adalat does not automatically imply a full waiver of the fine in every case. Each challan will undergo a formal hearing and settlement process in accordance with the rules. Therefore, the extent of relief you may receive regarding the challan amount will depend on the specifics of your case.

How to download a challan?

To download a challan or notice, you must visit the official portal of the Delhi Traffic Police. First, go to the website [https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/lokadalat/](https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/lokadalat/) and enter your vehicle details. Complete the verification process to download the challan. It is also mandatory to have a mobile number registered with the vehicle, as verification on the portal is conducted via an OTP (One-Time Password).
