On November 1, 15 express trains in Mumbai will be affected due to track and overbridge-related work. Some trains will run with a delay of 15–20 minutes, while the routes of three trains will be altered. Local train services will also be impacted; please check the status.

For passengers traveling by train in Mumbai, November 1 may prove to be a bit inconvenient. Central Railway has decided to implement special night-time traffic and power blocks to facilitate essential construction work on railway tracks and at stations.

This is expected to affect several long-distance trains arriving in or departing from Mumbai, as well as local train services. According to the Railways, approximately 15 mail and express trains could be impacted. Passengers are advised to check the status of their specific train before heading to the station.

These 15 Express Trains May Be Affected

According to information provided by the Railways, the operations of 12 mail/express trains in the Khardi–Kasara section and 3 in the Dadar–Kalyan section may be affected. Trains affected in the Khardi-Kasara section:

01144 – Danapur–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Special
11002 – Ballarshah–CSMT Nandigram Express
12545 – Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Karmabhumi Express

12106 – Gondia–CSMT Vidarbha Express
17058 – Lingampalli–CSMT Devagiri Express

12152 – Shalimar–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express
These trains may face delays of approximately 15 to 20 minutes while passing through the affected section.

Which railway sections will undergo work?

On November 1, work will be carried out in two major areas within the Mumbai Division of Central Railway. The first block will be in effect on the Up and Down main lines of the Khardi–Kasara section from 3:00 AM to 5:30 AM. During this time, overhead electrical equipment will be installed at Kasara yard. This work is part of the Asangaon–Kasara third railway line project.

Additionally, a second block will be in place on the Up and Down slow lines of the Dadar–Kalyan section from 1:20 AM to 2:50 AM. Furthermore, work will be conducted on the fifth and sixth lines from 1:20 AM to 4:20 AM. This arrangement has been made to facilitate the removal of the old foot-overbridge structure at Ghatkopar station. Mumbai Suburban (Local) Train Passengers Should Also Take Note

This block will also affect some local (suburban) trains. Two local trains departing from Kasara at 3:51 AM and 4:59 AM will be diverted onto the third line; consequently, they will not stop at Khardi and Umarmali stations. Meanwhile, some services on the Dadar-Kalyan section will also operate via alternative tracks and will not stop at Kopar and Thakurli stations.

Check for Updates Before Traveling

The Railways has advised passengers to keep these changes in mind while planning their journeys. Although the official notification does not state that any trains have been cancelled, there is a possibility of delays and route diversions. To avoid any inconvenience, passengers are urged to check official railway updates and the live status of their trains.

Route Changes for Three Trains

The scheduled routes for three express trains on the Dadar-Kalyan section will also be temporarily altered:

22538 LTT-Gorakhpur Express: Between Thane and Diva, this train will run on the 'down fast' line instead of the 'down slow' line. From Diva to Kalyan, it will then use the 'down slow' line.
18030 Shalimar-LTT Express: This train will run via the 'up fast' line between Kalyan and Diva.
18519 Visakhapatnam-LTT Express: This train will also be diverted onto the 'up fast' line between Kalyan and Diva.
These services are also expected to arrive with a delay of approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
