A total of 1,468 candidates have been selected for the post of Gram Panchayat Officer in the Panchayati Raj Department. Selection for 1,468 Gram Panchayat Officer Posts
Under this UPSSSC recruitment drive, 1,468 vacant posts of Gram Panchayat Officer are being filled. The allocation includes 849 posts for the Unreserved category, 356 for SC, 7 for ST, 139 for OBC, and 117 for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). The final selection list has been prepared based on this reservation system and the candidates' performance in the main examination.
Selections Under Women's and Other Horizontal Reservation Categories
In the final selection list, 270 candidates have been selected against the 270 posts reserved for women. Forty-seven candidates have been selected for the 47 posts reserved for the retired military personnel category, and two candidates have been selected for the two posts reserved for dependents of freedom fighters. Candidates have also been selected for the designated number of posts in the differently-abled category, specifically 28 posts in the LV (Low Vision) category and 2 posts in the HH (Hard of Hearing) sub-category. As eligible candidates were not available for the posts reserved under the sports quota, the Commission adopted a procedure to fill these posts based on merit, in accordance with the rules.
When Was the UPSSSC VDO Main Examination Held?
The application process for the Gram Panchayat Officer recruitment began on May 23, 2023. Candidates were given until June 23, 2023, to apply, and the results regarding eligibility were subsequently released on September 27, 2023. The fee submission process for candidates appearing in the main examination commenced in April 2025. Following this, the main examination for the Gram Panchayat Officer post was held on April 27, 2025. The Commission released the answer key on April 28, 2025—the day after the exam. Candidates were then shortlisted for the next stage based on their performance in the main examination. As part of the selection process, candidates were required to upload their documents, and finally, on August 17, 2026, the final selection list comprising 1,468 candidates was released.

What will be the salary of a UPSSSC VDO?
Candidates selected under the 2023 UPSSSC Gram Vikas Officer recruitment process will receive a monthly salary ranging from approximately ₹25,000 to ₹83,100. The salary will be paid based on Pay Level-3. In addition to the salary, candidates may also receive allowances depending on the post.
