1,300 RPF Personnel Deployed at Delhi Railway Stations; Security Beefed Up for the Festive Season
Stringent security arrangements are being put in place across Delhi for the festive season. As part of these measures, approximately 1,300 additional Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed at various railway stations in the capital.
With the festival of Diwali approaching, many people living in Delhi—including students and working professionals—will be traveling back to their hometowns. This is expected to lead to heavy crowding on trains. In response, the railway and police authorities have begun implementing security measures. Furthermore, with the festival of Chhath following Diwali, a high volume of passenger movement is anticipated.
In light of the surge in travelers heading home for the holidays, Northern Railway has strengthened security arrangements at major railway stations in Delhi. A total of 1,300 additional RPF personnel have been deployed to ensure passenger safety and manage crowds at these stations.
2,040 Personnel to Oversee Security
With this addition, a total of 2,040 RPF personnel are now tasked with maintaining security. Northern Railway has made special arrangements at the New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Old Delhi, and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations. The extra personnel have been deployed to handle the large influx of passengers, ensuring that travelers face minimal inconvenience and that crowds are managed effectively.
According to the railways, RPF personnel will be on duty 24 hours a day. Immediate action will be taken in the event of any suspicious activity or untoward incident. Additionally, assistance will be provided to passengers on-site whenever necessary.
Appeal to Passengers
Northern Railway has urged passengers to remain mindful of safety protocols during their journey. If any suspicious items or activities are observed at a station or on a train, passengers are advised to immediately inform the RPF personnel present on-site. The Railways states that continuous monitoring is being carried out during the festive season to ensure passenger safety and make their travel easier.
