10 Candidates, Including a Young Woman, Faint During UP Police SI PET 2026 Run; Chaos Ensues
Ten candidates, including a young woman, fainted in Ghaziabad just before the physical test for the 2026 UP Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment. This incident has once again raised questions regarding health, safety, and preparedness during recruitment examinations.
For aspirants preparing for government jobs, the physical test is just as crucial as the written examination. The incident in Ghaziabad—where ten candidates, including a young woman, fell ill prior to the SI recruitment physical test—serves as a reminder for future candidates to exercise caution and proper preparation.
During the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) held at the 47th Battalion PAC complex in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad, ten candidates (including one young woman) suddenly collapsed from dizziness while completing the running event. A medical team present at the site immediately administered first aid, and the candidates were subsequently taken to the Joint District Hospital.
Two Candidates Referred
Following initial medical assessment, two candidates were referred to a higher medical center for advanced treatment due to their condition. Meanwhile, the other candidates were discharged after receiving first aid, as their condition was found to be stable. Timely medical intervention ensured that everyone received immediate assistance.
Recruitment Underway for Thousands of Posts
The recruitment process for 4,543 Sub-Inspector (SI) posts is currently being conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. Physical efficiency tests are being held at various centers across the state. On the first day at the Ghaziabad center, a total of 565 candidates were called, including 164 female aspirants.
Warning Issued to Candidates
Whether for police recruitment or army service, candidates must undergo physical tests. Experts advise aspirants to practice running regularly, stay hydrated, maintain a balanced diet, and get adequate sleep before the exam. Appearing for a physical test without proper preparation can lead to health-related complications.
