New LPG prices are announced on the first of every month. In August, the price of the 19 kg commercial gas cylinder had been reduced by ₹209. Prior to that, in July, there was a reduction of ₹179. However, it is worth noting that commercial cylinder prices had previously seen a sharp hike during the Hormuz crisis. Meanwhile, there has been no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder this month, just as there was none last month.

2). ATF Prices Hiked: Will Air Travel Become More Expensive?

In Mumbai, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has increased the prices of CNG and PNG. MGL has cited supply chain disruptions caused by tensions in West Asia as the primary reason for this hike. 4). Buying a car will become costlier
If you are planning to buy a car in September, your budget will need to increase compared to before. Starting today, September 1, cars from Tata and Hyundai are set to become more expensive. According to the companies, Tata Motors is raising prices for all variants of its cars and SUVs by up to ₹25,000. Hyundai has also announced price hikes for its vehicles.

5). Milk prices up by ₹9
Household kitchen budgets in Mumbai are set to rise this month, and milk is the reason why. Milk prices in Mumbai are not just going up by ₹1, ₹2, or ₹5, but by as much as ₹9. 6). Higher property tax in Faridabad
The burden of property tax and sewer/water bills will increase in Faridabad (NCR) starting today. According to a government notification, higher taxes will now have to be paid. Property tax will now be calculated based on 'collector rates.' This means that if collector rates differ between two colonies, houses of the same size will attract different tax amounts; areas with higher collector rates will incur higher property taxes. Water rates have also been revised, seeing an increase of approximately 200 percent. These rates have been revised after nearly 14 years.

7). Relief for international travelers at the airport
The immigration process at the airport is set to become easier for travelers heading abroad. Starting today, September 1, international passengers will no longer need to get a physical stamp on their boarding passes during immigration clearance. The Bureau of Immigration has introduced this change to make the process faster and more convenient. Air passengers can now simply show an electronic boarding pass on their mobile phones or a printed copy.

8). ITR deadline over; penalties apply from today
The deadline for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) for non-audit businesses and professionals has passed. The deadline for non-audit taxpayers with business or professional income was August 31. Penalties will now apply. A 'belated return' can still be filed with a penalty until December 31, 2026, for the Assessment Year 2026-27. The late filing fee can range from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000. It is worth noting that the ITR deadline for general taxpayers was July 31.
