Zepto Fake Apple Watch: Millions of people likely place orders daily via the quick-delivery app Zepto, but you might be shocked to learn that Chinese knock-offs are being sold on the platform instead of genuine products. Comedian-actor Vir Das recently posted on X claiming that an Apple Watch purchased from Zepto turned out to be fake, raising questions about the authenticity of products sold on the app. A video of the watch was also shared alongside the post.

In his post, Vir Das asked, "Am I wrong, or do all Apple Watches look like this? Or is Zepto up to something shady by selling Chinese copies?" After examining the watch, a Zepto customer service agent stated there was nothing they could do; Das described the situation as a complete scam. "We needed it urgently for a shoot, and they charged us ₹50,000," he noted.

What did Zepto say?
Responding to Vir Das's post, Zepto stated, "We take such matters seriously and have already scheduled a reverse pickup for the product, which is our standard procedure in such cases. This will help us investigate the matter with our brand partners. For high-value products, users receive an OTP at the time of delivery. The OTP should only be shared after verifying that the package is properly sealed and in good condition. Zepto added that they are currently investigating the matter and will take appropriate action based on the findings."

How to distinguish between genuine and fake
To determine whether the delivered watch is genuine or fake, visit Apple's official website or https://checkcoverage.apple.com/?locale=en_IN.
Enter the serial number and the CAPTCHA code; upon clicking 'Submit,' you will find out whether the product is genuine or fake.
