Indian Railways offers the facility to book an entire train or coach for weddings and other special occasions. However, you cannot book an entire train or coach through IRCTC's online reservation portal. A portal has been launched for this purpose, allowing you to easily book a train or coach.

If you need to book an entire train or coach, you cannot do so through the IRCTC website or app. There is a dedicated website for this purpose, allowing you to easily book an entire train or coach. People typically take advantage of this facility to transport wedding processions from one city to another during the wedding season. Booking a train coach is advantageous compared to bus or road transport.

Where to book an entire train or coach?

Indian Railways' official online ticket booking platform has launched a separate FTR (Full Tariff Rate) website (https://www.ftr.irctc.co.in/ftr/) for booking entire trains or coaches.

You must first create an account on this website.

You must then log in.

After logging in, check the trains on your route in the list of trains provided.

Then select the cities between which you wish to book the train or coach.

After this, you must make the payment.

In addition to the IRCTC Full Tariff Rate (FTR) website, you can obtain information about it from the nearest railway station.

Keep these points in mind:

To book entire trains or coaches, a limited number of trains per zone are listed on the IRCTC FTR website. You will not be able to book coaches or entire trains of premium trains such as Rajdhani, Duronto, Shatabdi, Vande Bharat, etc. on this website. The website generally lists mail/express and intercity trains. You can select trains only from the provided list.

Furthermore, you cannot book a coach or an entire train during festivals and peak seasons. According to the IRCTC website, you will not be able to book any train or coach between October 13, 2025, and November 4, 2025, and February 25, 2026, and March 11, 2026. Due to Diwali and Holi, the Railways has restricted train and coach bookings during this period.

You can book train charters (entire trains), coach charters (entire coaches), as well as special saloon charters (saloon coaches) from the IRCTC FTR website. You will have to pay a registration fee of ₹50,000 per coach. Additional charges will be based on stoppages and distance.
