X Chat receives a major upgrade, Elon Musk's chat app raises WhatsApp's concerns.
Elon Musk's chatting app, X Chat, has received a major upgrade. Users will now receive end-to-end encryption, similar to WhatsApp and Signal.
Elon Musk has upgraded his social media platform, X Chat. Musk's company has added encryption to X's DM feature. This X Chat feature poses a significant challenge to WhatsApp. The company's Chief Technical Officer announced this feature. User communication on X will now be completely secure. However, this feature has currently been rolled out to only select users. Some beta testers can currently test this feature.
X Chat Upgrades
In addition to the company's Chief Technical Officer, Elon Musk also announced in his X post that a new communication stack is being rolled out for X, which will include encrypted messages, audio-video calls, and file transfers. Last month, the company announced X Chat as a standalone platform. Musk compared X Chat's encryption feature to Signal and WhatsApp.

According to reports, users who are receiving this feature in X Chat are first asked to create a four-digit PIN. Only then will they be able to access X Chat messages. Many users have expressed displeasure with this process, stating that they have to follow a second-layer authentication when replying to messages.
Several New Features Rolled Out
X Developer Platform Christopher Park stated in his X post that the company has also introduced several other products in the past few weeks, including Grokipedia, X Chat, and X API Beta. Additionally, the Grok Imagine feature has been released, allowing users to generate 15-second AI videos. The company is also rolling out X Money and a fully Grok-powered X Feed.
