Wrong Recharge Refund: Accidentally recharged the wrong Jio number? Now get your full refund back using this simple trick. Let us walk you through the entire process...

Wrong Recharge Refund: Has this ever happened to you? In a rush, you recharged your own number or a family member's number, only to check your phone later and realize the recharge never went through. When you checked your transaction history, you discovered that you had entered the wrong mobile number entirely, and the recharge had gone to someone else's number instead. At that moment, it might feel like your money has gone down the drain; however, there is a specific feature—or "trick," if you will—that allows you to recover your funds. Let us show you how.

What is this trick?

Jio offers a specific feature to its users: if you have recharged your own number or a family member's number using the MyJio app, and the recharge was accidentally applied to the wrong number, you can request a refund within a few hours of the transaction. This feature works *only* if the transaction was initiated through the MyJio app itself. This facility does not apply if you performed the recharge using any other payment or third-party recharge application. Once you submit the request, the money is refunded to your original payment source.

What is the refund process?

To claim a refund for an incorrect recharge, first open the MyJio app and navigate to the 'Recharge Transaction History' section. Next, open the details for the specific transaction where the error occurred. At the bottom of the transaction details screen, you will see a 'Cancel Plan' option (this option remains visible for up to 3 hours after the transaction); click on it. You will then be asked to specify the reason for the cancellation and select your preferred refund source. Once you have filled in these details, your money will be refunded to you shortly.

What should Airtel and Vi users do?

Airtel and Vi customers also have access to a similar facility. Airtel customers should open the MyAirtel app and select the 'Help & Support' option. Within that section, select the 'Facing issue with recharge' option, then choose 'Wrong recharge,' and finally, select your preferred refund source. If Vi users wish to obtain a refund for an incorrect recharge, they must send an SMS. From your Vi SIM, type WRR and send it to 51619. This will ensure that your recharge amount is refunded.
