Why has Facebook introduced this program?
In terms of content, Facebook is facing stiff competition from platforms such as TikTok and YouTube. Despite having nearly 3 billion users worldwide and issuing its highest-ever creator payouts last year, Facebook continues to lag behind in competing with other platforms. Now, through this program, Facebook aims to revitalize its creator ecosystem. Last year, the company paid out approximately $3 billion to content creators—a 35 percent increase compared to 2024.
