Will a 3D AI Clone Replace Zuckerberg? Meta Is Making These Major Preparations..

Just imagine: how would you feel if an AI avatar of *you* were standing right in front of you? In fact, companies have already begun working on this very concept; a recent report reveals that Meta is currently developing an AI-powered 3D version of Mark Zuckerberg. The company is pursuing this initiative so that this 3D avatar can engage with employees in Zuckerberg's stead; this project is reportedly part of the company's multi-billion-dollar strategic transformation.

According to the *Financial Times*, Meta is working on photorealistic, AI-powered 3D characters with which employees will be able to interact in real time. The company has recently begun prioritizing the development of the Zuckerberg AI character. This AI character is being trained based on Zuckerberg's mannerisms, voice, tone, public statements, and his strategic vision for the company.

Meta's CEO is personally involved in the training and testing of this animated AI. The project is currently in its nascent stages and is distinct from the "CEO Agent" concept reported on some time ago. This 3D AI clone is being designed to assist Zuckerberg with his own operational tasks—such as rapidly retrieving information.

Meta's "Superintelligence Labs" are placing a strong emphasis on creating photorealistic versions of virtual AI characters. However, scaling up this effort has proven technically challenging, as the technology requires immense computing power to render characters that appear truly lifelike.

The social media giant is also focusing on enhancing voice interactions with these characters; to this end, it acquired two voice-focused companies—PlayAI and WaveForms—last year. The Zuckerberg AI character is being trained using the Meta CEO's visual likeness and his voice. If the experiment proves successful, the company plans to provide influencers and creators with the foundational technology to enable them to create their own high-fidelity AI versions. Notably, Meta has already launched an AI Studio that allows creators to build their own AI versions to chat with their fans.
