If you are an Apple iPhone user, there is big news for you. The company may soon launch its payment service, Apple Pay, in India. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple Pay could launch in India next month—in October.

If this happens, it will mark the entry of Apple's payment service into India after nearly 12 years; Apple originally introduced Apple Pay in the US in 2014. Now, the company is poised to bring it to India as well.

**Card Payment Support Likely First**
In his *Power On* newsletter, Mark Gurman stated that Apple might launch Apple Pay in India soon. Reports suggest that the service may initially offer support for card-based payments. Additionally, UPI integration could be added to Apple Pay to expand its reach in India, although UPI support might not be available at the very beginning.

With Apple Pay, you will be able to securely store tokenized details of your credit and debit cards on your iPhone or other Apple devices. You can then make payments by simply tapping your phone at any contactless payment terminal. Payments can be easily authenticated using Face ID or Touch ID, eliminating the need to open a separate payment app each time.

**Will UPI Support Be Included?**
There are conflicting reports regarding whether UPI support will be available at the time of Apple Pay's launch in India. A recent Reuters report suggests that Apple might initially launch Apple Pay with Axis Bank credit cards, while talks with HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are reportedly ongoing. This report makes no mention of UPI support at the time of launch.
