WhatsApp's Look to Change Soon: New Chat Themes Coming!
WhatsApp is introducing new chat themes, which will be categorized into three distinct groups. This will allow users to select and use themes that suit their preferences, thereby enhancing their overall experience.
WhatsApp is preparing to expand its chat theme options to make the app more visually appealing. With this update, users will gain access to new styles and animated wallpapers that can be set as chat screen backgrounds, giving the application's interface a fresh look. Currently, WhatsApp allows users to change message bubble colors and apply static wallpapers.
Themes to be Available in Three Categories
According to a report by Wabetainfo, details regarding these new themes emerged from the Android beta update (version 2.26.31.2) on the Google Play Store. The themes will be available in three categories: Featured, Doodle, and Minimal. Android users will be the first to access them.

The 'Doodle' category will feature WhatsApp's classic, familiar wallpapers, which can be used as chat themes. This allows users to give the app a nostalgic, classic aesthetic. Meanwhile, the 'Minimal' category is designed for users who prefer a simple look.
The report further notes that these themes will not feature complex patterns or animations; instead, they will consist of wallpapers with simple designs. Consequently, setting these themes will result in a clean chat background, ensuring the user's focus remains entirely on the conversation.
Chat Bubble Color to be Selected Automatically
When a chat theme is selected, the platform will automatically choose a matching chat bubble color, eliminating the need for manual selection. However, users will still have the option to choose a different color if they are not satisfied with the default choice.
Work in Progress
Work on WhatsApp's upcoming themes is currently underway; they are in the development phase and could soon be rolled out to beta testers. However, there is no information yet on when these new themes will be rolled out to stable users.
Web Calling
Finally, it is worth noting that WhatsApp launched the web calling function last month—in July. With this feature, users can now make WhatsApp audio and video calls from a PC or laptop. Additionally, the platform offers call transfer and waiting room features.
