The company has rolled out a new update that completely revamps the way media is shared. Users will now be able to instantly send photos and videos without ever having to leave the chat screen.

With this new update, the media attachment section on WhatsApp will sport a distinctly different look. A key highlight is that the screen will no longer switch entirely to the gallery interface while you are in the middle of a chat. This means incoming messages from the other person won't disappear from your view, ensuring that the flow of the conversation remains uninterrupted. As a result, sharing photos or videos will become far faster and more convenient than ever before.

Currently, this new feature has been released for iPhone users. According to reports, the company is testing this new media attachment interface within version 26.19.75 of the WhatsApp iOS app.

As soon as a user taps the '+' icon within a chat, they will see a 4x4 grid displaying their recently saved photos and videos at the bottom of the screen, alongside the standard options such as Documents, Camera, and Location. This will significantly reduce the time required to locate and send any media file.

Previously, whenever a user opened the gallery, the entire chat screen would disappear. Consequently, new messages would often go unnoticed, disrupting the flow of the conversation. However, with the new design, the chat remains open in the background, allowing users to simultaneously continue chatting while sharing media files.

It is worth noting, however, that this feature has not yet reached everyone. For the time being, WhatsApp has made it available only to a limited number of beta testers and select users. The company first wants to test its performance and user experience. If this new layout is not currently visible on your iPhone, there is no need to worry. In the coming days, this feature will be rolled out to other users as well through a stable update.
