WhatsApp will soon allow users to add their favorite background images to their profiles with a new feature

According to a WABetaInfo report, the Cover Photo feature was discovered in the iOS 26.1.10.71 beta update available on the App Store. Through this, a photo can be set as the background of the profile picture. Work has started on this. It will soon be released for beta users for testing.

Looking at the screenshot included in the tweet, it appears that WhatsApp is going to add a new option to its profile section, which will allow users to set a cover photo. This function is currently available to business users, allowing them to use their brand image as a cover photo. However, this feature will soon be available to personal account holders as well.
