With this update, users who own both Android and iOS devices will be able to add multiple passkeys for a single WhatsApp account. This option will be available under Settings > Account > Passkeys.

WhatsApp has also revamped its two-step verification process. Previously, users could secure their accounts using a 6-digit PIN. Now, WhatsApp allows users to create a full password comprising letters, numbers, and special characters. The company notes that this makes it harder for attackers to guess security credentials. WhatsApp will now display additional information during calls from unsaved numbers. On Android, users will be able to see if the calling number originates from another country and whether the caller shares a group with the user. Even with these new features, end-to-end encryption for personal messages and calls will remain in place.
