WhatsApp profiles for these users will change: they will be able to add a cover photo, much like on Facebook..

WhatsApp profiles for iPhone users may soon look different and more attractive. The company is currently testing a new feature that will allow users to add a custom cover photo to their profiles—much like the cover photos seen on Facebook. Users will not only be able to select an image from their phone’s gallery or take a new photo, but they will also have the option to generate a custom banner using Meta AI. For now, this feature is available only to a select group of iPhone beta users.

What will WhatsApp profiles look like for iPhone users?
Currently, a WhatsApp profile displays a profile picture, a name, and a short "About" section. However, the company is preparing to enhance this experience by adding new elements. With this upcoming feature, a wide cover banner will appear at the top of the profile—resembling the cover photo style found on Facebook. Users will be able to give their profiles a unique look by adding an image of their choice to this space.

New feature spotted in the iPhone beta version
This WhatsApp feature has been identified in the iOS beta version 26.43.10.70 and is currently accessible only to iPhone beta users. Through this feature, users can either take a new photo or select an existing image from their phone’s gallery. Additionally, there is an option to create a custom cover photo using Meta AI.

How can you use this feature?
While the feature is currently limited to a select group of beta users, those who have access to it can follow the steps below to use it:

Open WhatsApp on your iPhone.
Go to Settings and navigate to your profile.
Tap on the "Edit cover photo" option.
Take a new photo or select an image from your gallery.
Alternatively, you can generate a cover photo using Meta AI. Use the crop tool to adjust the image to the correct size.
Finally, tap 'Save'. Your profile will then be updated.

When will Android users get this feature?

WhatsApp's cover photo feature is currently being tested with a select group of iPhone beta users. Testing is also underway for Android, but there is no confirmation yet on when it will be released to all users. As there is no official information from the company at this time, general iPhone and Android users will have to wait for the official rollout.
