WhatsApp Plus: The messaging platform WhatsApp has begun rolling out its subscription plan. It is currently being made available to beta testers.

WhatsApp Plus: Much like YouTube, a paid subscription service—to be known as 'WhatsApp Plus'—is coming soon to WhatsApp. Speculation regarding this feature has been circulating for several months, and the company has now officially started rolling it out. It has been made available to a select group of users, offering a glimpse into the additional features that subscribers will gain access to in exchange for a fee. Furthermore, the estimated pricing for the service has also surfaced. Let's take a look at how much users might have to pay per month for WhatsApp Plus and the exclusive features they will receive in return.

What Features Will WhatsApp Plus Include?

According to reports, WhatsApp has rolled out this subscription plan to a select group of Android beta testers. In terms of special features, users will have the option to choose from exclusive icons, themes, and ringtones. It is reported that this plan offers exclusive sticker packs, 18 different themes, and various color schemes, allowing users to customize the app according to their personal preferences. Additionally, paid subscribers will have the ability to pin up to 20 chats and set unique themes, ringtones, and notification tones for specific conversations.

How Much Will WhatsApp Plus Cost?

The company has not yet made an official announcement regarding the pricing of this plan in India. However, reports indicate that during the testing phase, the company has set the subscription price at €2.49 (approximately ₹250) per month. This pricing is subject to change at the time of the feature's official rollout in India. In essence, WhatsApp is set to offer users a host of additional features for a monthly fee of approximately ₹250.

WhatsApp Plus Will Be Entirely Optional

It is worth noting that this subscription plan will be completely optional. This means that users who purchase this subscription will gain access to extra features. Conversely, users who opt out of this subscription plan will not receive these additional features, though they will still be able to use the app just as they have until now. Even after the launch of the plan, the app's basic functions—such as chatting, audio and video calls, and file sharing—will remain free of charge. Users will not be required to pay anything for these services. It is anticipated that this subscription plan will be rolled out for both Android and iPhone devices within the next few weeks.
