WhatsApp Plus Launching Soon! Find Out What New Features You'll Get in This Paid Version..
A major change is coming soon to WhatsApp. Meta is preparing to launch a new subscription plan called "WhatsApp Plus." Currently, this feature is available for testing to a select group of Android users who have installed the latest update from the Google Play Store. It is expected to be rolled out to iOS users shortly as well. This feature will be entirely optional, meaning that even if you choose not to subscribe, WhatsApp's basic features will remain free, just as they have been in the past.
**Details on WhatsApp Plus**
According to recent reports, the price of WhatsApp Plus is expected to be around €2.49 (approximately ₹274 per month), though pricing may vary across different countries. Through this plan, Meta is exploring a new avenue for revenue generation—specifically through subscriptions—in addition to its existing revenue streams from advertisements. The company has previously conducted similar experiments on Instagram, and this monetization model is now being tested on WhatsApp.
**Exciting New Personalization Features**
The most significant benefit of WhatsApp Plus will be personalization. Subscribers will gain access to exclusive sticker packs, which can be downloaded directly from the Sticker Store. Some of these stickers will be animated, making the chatting experience even more engaging and fun. Additionally, users will have access to 18 new theme color options, such as Vibrant Blue, Royal Purple, Forest Green, and Golden Yellow. Once a color is selected, the entire WhatsApp interface will adopt that theme, completely transforming the app's visual appearance.
With this premium plan, users will also be able to customize the WhatsApp app icon itself. There will be approximately 14 different design options available, ranging from a classic look to more creative designs such as Glitter, Electric Blue, and Cosmic themes. Furthermore, icons featuring soft pastel and minimalist designs will be available, allowing users to customize the app to perfectly suit their personal preferences.
Another major advantage of WhatsApp Plus is that users will now be able to pin up to 20 chats—an increase from the current limit of three. This means you can keep your most important conversations right at the top of your chat list, eliminating the need to constantly scroll through your feed. This feature will be particularly beneficial for individuals who use WhatsApp for work or business purposes. Although WhatsApp already offers a custom ringtone feature, the Plus plan will provide users with 10 new, exclusive ringtone options. This will make the calling experience even more distinctive and unique. Each user can select different sounds according to their personal preferences.
Will Users Like This Plan?
This move by Meta is an attempt to gauge whether people are willing to spend money on extra features within WhatsApp. Basic usage will remain free; however, for those seeking greater customization and advanced features, this plan could prove beneficial. It will be interesting to observe in the coming times to what extent users embrace this new model.
