If you, too, have grown bored of seeing the same old WhatsApp interface day after day, your chatting experience is about to undergo a complete transformation. WhatsApp has begun rolling out its new premium subscription plan, 'WhatsApp Plus.' Through this service, users will now be able to customize the app's colors, icons, stickers, and even chat management features to suit their personal preferences. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Plus is currently being released exclusively to select iPhone users. It is expected to be made available to a wider user base in the near future.
What Special Features Does WhatsApp Plus Offer?
WhatsApp Plus currently comes packed with several premium features designed to make the app feel more personal and visually appealing. These include:
- Subscribers will receive exclusive animated sticker packs featuring unique overlay effects. Notably, standard WhatsApp users will still be able to view these stickers within chats, but only Plus subscribers will have the ability to download them.
- Additionally, users will have access to 18 distinct accent colors, with options such as Vibrant Blue, Royal Purple, Forest Green, Burgundy, and Golden Yellow. The selected color will be applied across the entire app interface.
- WhatsApp Plus also introduces 14 new app icons, featuring a range of minimalist and stylish designs.
- With the premium subscription, users will be able to pin up to 20 chats—an increase from the standard limit of three. Furthermore, users will have the option to apply a specific theme, notification tone, and ringtone to a customized list of chats.
- WhatsApp Plus also provides 10 exclusive ringtones, including Flutter, Tempo, Ripple, Quest, Drum, Murmur, Flux, Meadow, Bubble, and Carnival.
Which Users Will Get WhatsApp Plus?
Currently, WhatsApp Plus is being made available only to select iPhone users. This feature is available on version 26.17.74 of WhatsApp for iOS. Additionally, WhatsApp Plus is currently available only on the standard WhatsApp Messenger app; WhatsApp Business users will not receive this feature.
WhatsApp may add more premium features to the Plus subscription in the future. However, users who do not wish to opt for this plan will continue to use all of WhatsApp's essential services for free, just as before.
