According to Amazon's 'Best in Tech' survey, processor performance is the most critical factor for 87% of people when purchasing a laptop. This is followed by RAM and storage, and then battery life. Features matter more to buyers than the brand itself; 53% of respondents stated they would be willing to switch brands if another offered better features at the same price point. Additionally, 48% of buyers compare two to three brands before making a purchase, while only 18% decide on a specific brand beforehand.
**AI Features and Laptop Budgets**
Significant interest in AI has also been observed among laptop buyers. In the survey, 58% of respondents described upcoming AI features as highly useful for their work. Specifically, 28% are interested in on-device AI assistants, 25% in AI processing chips, and 23% in AI-powered content creation and editing features. Regarding budgets, 24% of buyers are looking at models priced under ₹40,000, while 28% prefer the ₹40,000–₹60,000 range and 22% favor the ₹60,000–₹80,000 range. Furthermore, 14% are considering laptops in the ₹80,000–₹1 lakh range, and 12% are looking at models costing over ₹1 lakh.
Display is the Top Priority for Tablets
For tablet buyers, display size and quality are the most important factors; 74% of respondents in the survey cited this as their top priority. This was followed by price (12%) and processor (9%). Regarding the budget, the ₹20,000 to ₹35,000 range is the most popular, attracting interest from 59% of potential buyers. Motivations for purchasing a tablet also vary: 29% view it as an affordable alternative to a laptop, 21% intend to use it for media consumption, and 17% want it for its portability. Amazon stated that the survey is based on over 40,000 responses, and the findings will also be utilized for the 'Best in Tech' awards.
