Voter ID: From correcting your voter ID to speaking with officials, all election-related work will be done on a single app..

Digital transformation of India's electoral system is no longer just a dream, but is becoming a reality. In May 2025, the Election Commission of India took a major step towards this goal by launching a unified digital platform called ECINET. The Chief Election Commissioner mentioned this app again when announcing the Bihar election dates. It was first used in the West Bengal by-elections in June 2025. Its purpose was to bring together over 40 existing apps, such as Voter Helpline, cVIGIL, and Suvidha 2.0, onto a single platform to digitally connect the entire electoral system. ECINET has received over 55 million downloads so far.
In March 2025, under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, the idea for ECINET began to take shape. The project involved CEOs from 36 states and union territories, 767 District Election Officers, and 4,123 Electoral Registration Officers across the country. ECINET has the capacity to simultaneously connect 1 billion voters, 1.05 million booth-level officers, 1.5 million booth agents, and 4.5 million polling staff.
ECINET Features: One App, Countless Features
This app is not just a tool, but the digital engine of the entire electoral system. For ordinary citizens, it offers features like voter registration (adding a new name through Form 6), checking names on the electoral roll, polling station locations, and real-time turnout trends. Users can also view voting data and candidate KYC information updated every two hours.
For election officials, it provides role-based access, meaning each user will only see the data that is appropriate for their role. It integrates all services, such as cVIGIL (complaints), Suvidha 2.0 (campaign permissions), and ESMS (security management). Data entry can only be done by authorized officials, and in case of any dispute, statutory forms are considered primary.
How to download ECINET?
The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or App Store. Registration requires only a mobile number and OTP verification. Citizens receive basic access, while election officials receive role-based access. There are also tutorials on YouTube, such as "ECINET App Kaise Use Kare," which are proving helpful for new users.
