Udyam Portal: What is the Udyam Portal? Small business owners gain significant benefits..
The government has launched a new facility for those starting small and medium-sized businesses. To formalize these small businesses and link them with various government schemes, a registration system has been introduced on the Udyam portal. The registration process is online, paperless, and completely free of cost. Registering as an MSME via the Udyam portal offers significant benefits, as it facilitates access to various government schemes and facilities.
**Who can register on the Udyam portal?**
Individuals starting micro, small, or medium enterprises can register on the Udyam portal. Currently, the limits for micro-enterprises are an annual turnover of ₹10 crore and an investment of ₹2.5 crore. For small enterprises, the investment limit is ₹25 crore, and the turnover limit is ₹100 crore. Similarly, for medium enterprises, the investment limit is ₹125 crore and the turnover limit is ₹500 crore.
**No registration fee**
The registration process on the Udyam portal is conducted online. An Aadhaar number is mandatory, though there is no requirement to upload copies of documents or certificates. Upon completion of registration, a permanent Udyam Registration Number and an online certificate are issued. There is no fee for this process, nor is there any requirement for renewal.
It is worth noting that obtaining Udyam registration helps MSMEs access various government schemes. It also enables participation in opportunities related to government procurement and e-tenders. Furthermore, the Udyam number allows businesses to avail themselves of benefits related to government schemes, marketing support, and other forms of government assistance.
