Do your phone calls frequently drop? If the audio isn't clear during calls or if it takes too long to connect, you can now report this directly to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). TRAI has launched a new version of its 'MyCall' app. A key feature of this app is that it allows mobile users to rate their call quality in just a few seconds. The Authority states that this will help telecom companies identify network shortcomings and improve the calling experience. Currently, this updated app is available for Android users on the Google Play Store.

**Rate Every Call**

The standout feature of TRAI's new MyCall app is that users can rate every voice call on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. After a call ends, the app can automatically prompt the user to rate the call quality. If any issues occurred during the call, users can also specify exactly what the problem was.

Users can report issues such as dropped calls, echoes, audio delays, voice breaking up, cross-connections, inability to hear the other person, or excessive time taken to connect. According to TRAI, this feedback will be sent to the respective telecom operator without revealing the user's identity. This will enable companies like Jio, Airtel, Vi, and BSNL to identify areas with weak network coverage and make improvements.

**MyCall Is Not a Platform for Filing Complaints**

TRAI has clarified that MyCall is not a platform for customer complaints. If a user faces issues related to billing, SIM cards, or other personal mobile services, they must contact their telecom operator directly. The app's sole purpose is to gather call quality feedback from a large number of users to understand the actual state of mobile networks across the country.

**Coverage Test and Feedback on the Map**

The new MyCall app also includes a 'Coverage Test' feature, allowing users to check the network signal status in their area. Additionally, the app will feature an interactive map where users can view their past feedback. TRAI states that by combining user feedback with network data, the app will help assess the actual calling experience, eliminating the need to rely solely on technical network tests.
