Tips: No more safety for scam calls and hackers! Enable the 'Advanced Protection' feature on your Android phone today..
Google has introduced a new security feature called "Advanced Protection" alongside the Android 16 update. This feature is designed to safeguard your smartphone against digital threats. With its assistance, your phone can automatically identify and block suspicious websites, scam calls, phishing attacks, and other cyber threats.
This feature works in conjunction with essential system apps such as Google Chrome, Messages, and the Phone app. As soon as a malicious link or call is detected, it immediately alerts you, thereby keeping your personal information secure.
**What is the Advanced Protection Feature?**
Advanced Protection functions as a central security control hub within your phone. It blocks websites that have previously been identified as malicious. Furthermore, it detects and blocks scam and spam calls.
The "Spam Protection" feature built into Google Messages filters out suspicious messages to ensure you do not inadvertently fall victim to fraud. Moreover, this feature even blocks connections to 2G networks, as they are considered less secure.
**How to Enable Advanced Protection on Android?**
First, open the **Settings** app on your smartphone.
Scroll down and tap on the **Security & Privacy** menu.
Navigate to the **Other settings** option within this menu.
Inside, you will find the **Advanced Protection** toggle; tap on it.
Now, toggle the **Device protection** option to **Turn on**.
Your phone may prompt you to **Restart** once to ensure the new settings are properly applied to the system.
**Alternative Method (Via the Google App):** You can also enable this feature by opening the Google app on your phone and navigating to **All services > Personal and device safety > Advanced Protection**.
**How to Disable (Turn Off) It If Not Needed?**
Google grants users complete control over this feature. You can disable it at any time, according to your convenience:
Go to your phone's **Settings** and open the **Security & Privacy** menu. Navigate to the Advanced Protection page located under "Other settings."
Here, toggle "Device protection" to turn off.
For security reasons, the phone will prompt you to verify your identity using your fingerprint or security PIN.
As soon as you enter the PIN, this feature will be disabled, and the phone may reboot.
